holy SHIT I’m sitting at a drive thru and this older woman just came up and knocked on my window, so I rolled it down a crack, and she gave me a thumbs up and said, “capitalism is the Antichrist!”, I’m fucking dying hsjanxbxhxh
I am glad you are also using non-capitalistic computers, cars, video games, and art supplies…. right?
Yeah no shit dude, and this all went down in the drive thru of a non-capitalistic MickeyD’s too
Someone post The Comic
sdkja;lksadjfj how can you see the statement ‘there is no ethical consumption under late-stage capitalism’ and then reply with ‘well you consume things’ like HOW could you miss the point that throughly Im fucking blown away
this just in Im gonna embrace my anti-capitalist viewpoints by moving to a cave and making all of my things out of sticks because the only way to be critical of society and not be labeled a hypocrite is to die alone naked in the woods
a few weeks back i looked up the source of “we deserve a soft epilogue, my love” because it’s such a lovely, evocative line and i wanted to know the name of the poet who wrote it and it was. from captain america fanfiction.
“in whatever manner it comes to be, love is never wrong, especially between one who has so much of it to give, and one so desperately in need of it” is from a naruto fanfic we’re living in a web of lies
99.9% of the time nonbinary identities are ignored and the only two genders used are male and female
they imply that in order for someone to be a certain gender, their body has to change to fit it (i.e., a character can’t go from male to female without having wider hips and breasts)
they imply physical characteristics = gender
all of the above are examples of cissexism, which perpetuates the marginalization and erasure of trans people
stop arguing with trans people about whether genderbends are transphobic or not, especially if you’re cis
the end
Anyway you can keep doing genderbends because they don’t actually imply any of that; they’re just characters reimagined as what you think they’d look like if the creators were designing them as a different gender.
You wanna reimagine and redesign a character to be nonbinary? That is a genderbend, my friend. It is only a redesign and the reason that most people don’t do nb genderbends is that a lot of them don’t know what that would look like, are unsure of how to portray that respectfully, don’t even know that they exist (educate THEM), etc.
And if the character just looks exactly the same, what exactly is the point of doing the genderbend since they’re just redesigns of existing characters, imagining if the character had been designed by the creators to be a different gender.
And they assume they’re cis for the same reason they don’t do a lot of nb genderbends: How??? To be??? Respectful about it??? Also, why do you think the genderbend is necessarily cis? 👀👀👀 Unless it’s a naked genderbend, which raises a whole bunch of OTHER questions.
What IS kinda weird, however, is when people oversexualize the genderbent versions of characters. Don’t do that. Because 99% of you have no idea how to do that well.
be careful about your cleaning products and dont get yourself injured or potentially killed ok
why it so dangerous to be clean
As someone who’s job is to handle chemicals like this, I need to state that this information is IMPORTANT. Plenty of people have accidentally injured or killed themselves at home because they didn’t know what kind of reaction certain substances have with one another. Play it safe and don’t mix chemicals.
Sitting here reading fan blogs dedicated to saying fans shouldn’t enjoy certain things, and if they do they can only do it to cope and even then it should be done in private.
Seeing anti stuff on my dash today, crying about abuse and “protecting survivors,” and all I can think is…
I have been in this fandom since December 23, 2015. This blog has nearly four thousand posts. I’ve been actively involved in the fandom for nearly nine months.
And in that time, not once have I felt that an anti genuinely cared about me as an abuse survivor, even one who ships to cope. Not once. Not even close. All they’ve made me feel is scared, ashamed, hurt, damaged, and altogether subhuman because of my choice of fictional pairing.
And I’m open about my status as an abuse survivor. I’ve posted my story and discussed my past at length. I can’t even imagine how much damage they’ve caused to people who keep their stories to themselves and are consistently told “you are a bad person and you should feel bad if you like this”.
My God, do you not see how deeply damaging that can be to abuse survivors, especially those like myself who ship to cope? We’ve spent our lives blaming ourselves. We’ve been beaten down and led to believe that we’re worthless and that we deserve everything that’s happened to us. And then you turn around and do the exact same thing in the name of protecting people like us?
Have you no sense of decency, antis, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?
